Where: Catalyst Collective (an artists space near North/Pulaski, RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org for address if you have not been there before)
Cost: Free, but please bring snacks or beverages to share (in the spirit of gifting) if you can, and help Leave No Trace.
Just like a van on Nevada Route 447, with faux-fur covered bikes and LED hula hoops bungeed to the top, our calendar is getting closer and closer to Burning Man. If you are making your virgin voyage to the big burn in Black Rock City in 2016, it's orientation time. (If you are a veteran of the playa, but new to Chicago, or planning a future trip, feel free to stop by as well).
Flipit, Hambone and guests will explain how the city works, offer tips for you to survive and
thrive on the playa, and - most importantly - answer any burning questions YOU still have about getting ready for that thing in the desert: Burning Man. There will also be ephemera and videos from and about the event and to set the mood.
Around 9:30, we'll make time for introductions from the organizers who ship gear and bikes to the playa, and any veterans who want to invite virgins to participate in their playa-bound art, theme camp, or volunteer opportunities. Then we'll wrap up with some social time and Leave No Trace cleanup of the space.
